What’s with comparing this movie to “Twilight”? I LIKED Twilight!!!! But anyway, I can understand the frustration. I get that fans of the Last Air Bender want the movie to be exactly like the TV series, but lets take it for what it is! The characters in the series are animated! There isn’t a single person alive who will look exactly like an animated character. How about we judge the movie be how well the acting is and not the physical characteristics of the actors? Lets not judge a book by its cover…

Megan makes a very good point on whether the video should have been released to the public or not. Both sides had very good reasoning for what they believed and they were both very determined about what they thought was right. I would agree with Megan though on the fact that the video of the man dying should be under the control of the family and for them to decide on whether it should be viewed by the public or not. This is a very opinionated topic and I would have to say I am on the more sensitive side of the group.

Interesting article! I heard about this, but I had no idea it happened before the opening ceremonies! I have to admit I’m guilty of being one of those people who is “morbidly curious” about the footage. The death itself is tragic, yes, but its all part of the sport. Just like skiers falling down the slopes or ice skaters slamming into the walls after missing a jump. It makes all of us sitting at home cringe and squirm a little, but the athletes assumed the risk of injury and death when they agreed to participate in an internationally televised competition. I think NBC has the right to show the footage of the death if they want to.

This blog makes an interesting perspective on the movie. The race issue did not catch my eye at first while I was viewing the trailer, but after reading about this blog it has opened my eyes a lot more. I do not know why the director has casted the actors he did, but I have a strong feeling that he did do this for some purpose. Other than the race issue, I thought the trailer was good and an interesting movie to watch. I do agree with Selina’s opinion on the disappointment, but I still have an interest to view this film.

I love the image you created! I don’t know how you did this, but I love the effect of how it is has a red shade on one side and a purple one on the other! Very cool.
