“You are dismissed, and remember your homework for tonight is to download this app.” Is this the future of our education system? More and more schools are attempting to incorporate current technology into their curriculum. One new device that schools are trying to bring into their classrooms are iPads. Schools are doing so with the hope that iPads will bring innovative and interactive aspects to the classroom.

Recently Discovered Exoplanet May Be Habitable

Recently Discovered Exoplanet May Be Habitable

October 16, 2010 in Featured, Opinion, Science, Technology by

Some big news from astronomers, a new planet that is believed to be habitable has been found. A relatively close planet, that orbits a red dwarf, was recently discovered to be in the star’s habitable zone. There were two other planets that also orbit the same star. These three planets were at the edges of the habitable zone but one planet (planet c) was too hot and the other (planet d) was too cold and this new planet (Gliese 581g) is in the middle of the habitable zone. Though due to how close the planet is to the star, one side of the planet is always facing the star and in eternal daytime, much like our moon, and the other side is in perpetual night with low temperatures. However between these two extremes there is a band of perpetual twilight, where temperatures are more suitable for life. Even though it took 11 years to find this planet, it was actually found pretty quickly, and based on this fact there’s a good chance that there are more similar planets waiting to be discovered among the 100 other stars that are as close to earth as Gliese 581. Odds are that 10 to 20% of stars in the Milky Way have habitable planets orbiting them.

Violent Video Games, Positive outcomes?

Violent Video Games, Positive outcomes?

Killing is fun.  This is the mentality many young men have to justify their thriving addiction to violent video games.  Although fun wouldn’t be the right word, violent video game have shockingly positive outcomes.  It is obviously a hobby that would worry most parents and even governments.  Is it more than just a hobby?  Is there a chance these video games have a positive side?  I intend to defend the positive aspects of these games.

On September 1st, 2010, Apple released the new iPod models, including the iPod nano and the iPod touch. With the Touch, everyone pretty much expected the new features, and now this iPod is literally just like the iPhone 4, minus the abbility to make phone calls…The nano was a little bit of a shock because now it’s a mini iPod touch. So now my iPhone 3GS is completely outdated in every single way. Thanks Apple.

This is one of my ideas for the Smashcast logo. I created it using Adobe Photo shop. This was my first time using Photoshop, and trying to find out the functions and how everything worked was a little frustrating. Eventually, i figured out the basics, and found out that Photoshop was an excellent tool for showing your creativity and imagination.
