Selina villanueva has a unique characteristic all her own, she attends Santa Teresa high school, she is a rising third year scholar in SMASH, this will be her second year in smashcast and she has come a long way from not knowing how to create tabs on the computer to being able to edit videos... with the help of her instructors Simon and Trevor. Last air bender… too early to tell?

What to look for in the summer of 2010? The upcoming movie “The Last air bender” is based on an animated series, which was created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. They served as executive producers along with Aaron Ehasz. Avatar is set in an Asian-influenced world[2] of Chinese martial arts and elemental manipulation. The show drew on elements from East Asian (especially Chinese and Japanese) culture, blending the styles of anime and US domestic cartoons.

Having been gone for quite awhile it was nice to be back at smashcast working with photo shop,eating gummy bears,drinking pepsi and working with the computer…it was a great reminder on how fun smashcast is and how expressive you can be with the computer.

Seeing how bright and flashy megan’s background is (which is totally amazing); I thought it took too much away from the website. I wanted something that wouldn’t stand out too much but still have a pattern in order for the page not too look so dull. Seeing our website with a sold navy blue made it look ok but certainly not unique. Wanting to use the color I searched for images that would correspond with the navy blue and I stumbled upon this pattern; having fun meshing the two together i created this current background hopefully it worked out but if not it was fun creating it.

WOAH!!!

“It’s life changing”-says fellow smashcaster megangage after viewing Mark Belinsky and Emily Jacobi’s presentation on Digital Democracy. Digital democracy is an organization that takes an interest in empowering other’s through the use of technology. Digital democracy focuses on closed societies who do not allow the freedom of speech. They have worked in places such as Thailand, and Burma. Their goal is to not only increase technological proficiency, but to also link schools in refugee camps with schools in America to spread ideas and experiences internationally.
